Saudi Arabia to allow citizens to exit, re-enter Kingdom from Jan. 1, 2021

Saudi Arabia will lift all bans on the arrivals and departures of its citizens, and reopen its land, sea and air ports for the transit of all means of transport starting from January 1, 2021. 

The Kingdom will announce the date of lifting suspension 30 days before Jan. 1, 2021. The Ministry of Health is authorized to require certain health and preventive measures for passengers.  

Moreover, some categories of citizens will be allowed to exit and re-enter the Kingdom under certain conditions, including: 

1) Government officials – civilians and military personnel; 

2) Diplomatic missions, consulate officials; 

3) Those working in non-profit public or private organizations outside the Kingdom; 

4) Businessmen; 

5) Patients who should receive medical treatment abroad; and 

6) Scholarship students.  

7) Humanitarian cases; 
 

8) Those residing outside the Kingdom; and 
 

9) The participants in regional and international sports competitions.  

Saudi Arabia will also allow the re-entry and exit of GCC citizens and non-Saudis, who have valid visas according to the applicable health measures.  

Suspension will be partially lifted on international flights from and to the Kingdom, as well as land, sea and air ports to allow the exceptional categories of citizens and others to exit and re-enter the Kingdom starting from Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 6 am.
