Ministry of Industry issues 235 new mining licenses in December

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 235 new mining licenses during December 2021. These new licenses included 203 licenses for building materials, 24 detection licenses and 8 exploration licenses.

This brings the total number of mining licenses in the sector to 2,100 licenses, topped by building materials with 1,267 licenses, then detection with 633 licenses, then mining with 169 licenses, and 31 exploration licenses.

The National Industrial Information Center said that the Riyadh region accounted for the largest number of total mining licenses in the sector with 414 licenses, followed by Makkah region with 400 licenses, then the Eastern Province with 307 licenses, then Madinah region with 245 licenses.
