Al Othaim names Muaffaq Mubarah as CEO

Abdullah Al Othaim Markets Co.'s board of directors approved, on Jan. 5, the appointment of Muaffaq Mubarah as CEO, the company said in a statement to Tadawul.

The new CEO will commence work as of Feb. 15.

Mubarah acquired a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering in 1995 from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, and a Master's in Business Administration in1999 from King Saud University.

Mubarah has experience of more than 27 years as he assumed various leading positions in industrial, commercial and logistic companies. He had leadership courses from London Business School in UK, and courses in finance from INSEAD Business School in France. He is also a member at the boards and committees of several companies.

The company's board accepted, on Oct. 15, the request of Acting CEO Muwaffaq Jamal, to end his delegation as CEO, due to personal commitments, according to data available with Argaam.

On the other hand, the board approved appointing Vice Chairman Bader AlAujan as Managing Director as of Oct. 16, to undertake the company’s business until the appointment of a CEO.
