Abo Moati says Q3 2022/23 financials may miss deadline due to cyberattack

Abdullah Saad Mohammed Abo Moati for Bookstores Co. (Abo Moati) announced that financial statements for the third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2022, might miss the disclosure deadline due to a cyberattack on its servers.

In a statement to Tadawul, Abo Moati said the cyberattack resulted in the loss of financial data for the period from Nov. 4-Dec. 7, 2022. However, the data was restored as the company holds hardcopy backup.

Abo Moati also assigned an accredited cyber security company to examine the systems and network to ensure operations are running smoothly and normally.

Abo Moati announced on Dec. 8 a cyberattack on its servers, which affected the financial and sales systems in a number of the company’s branches, Argaam reported.
