Retail residential mortgages drop to SAR 6.8 bln in May
SAR 500 banknotes
Residential real estate finance provided by banks to individuals fell by 23% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 6.8 billion in May, data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed.
Compared to April, residential real estate finance grew by nearly SAR 2.66 billion, or 64%.

Villa mortgages accounted for the largest share of the total housing loans provided in May, reaching 69%, or SAR 4.68 billion. Apartments and land plots followed with SAR 1.73 billion and SAR 383 million, respectively.
