Saudi, Kuwaiti July fuel prices are lowest in Gulf

Fuel prices are the lowest in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait for July, when compared to neighboring Gulf countries.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has the highest prices for the month. 

Oman came second, followed by Qatar - which kept its special grade fuel prices unchanged, but raised diesel prices for July.

Super grade petrol (98 octane) in Saudi Arabia costs $0.24 (SAR 0.90) a liter. In Kuwait, it costs $0.35 a liter. However, the cost of the same grade in the UAE reaches $0.51 a liter.

Oman was the next highest at $0.48 a liter, then Qatar and Bahrain with $0.45 and $0.43 a liter, respectively.

Saudi Arabia is set to hike retail gasoline and diesel prices in the near term for the second year in a row, as part of its plan to reduce oil dependence.

No timeline, however, was given for that phase of energy reforms.
