Tadawul's major shareholders showed sell-off tendency in 2017
Tadawul's major shareholders, who own 5 percent or more in any listed company, showed a sell-off tendency in 2017, with 45 major shareholders reducing their ownership and 17 cutting holdings to below 5 percent, while 25 only increased their stakes, a study conducted by Argaam showed.
Saudi British Bank (SABB) increased its shareholding in SABB Takaful by 32.5 percent, by acquiring HSBC’s stake in the company. BUPA Investments Overseas Co. boosted its holding into Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance by 8 percent to 34.25 percent.
On the other side, Al Khodari Sons Investment Holding Co. reduced its exposure to Abdullah A. M. Al-Khodari Sons Co. by to 13.89 percent from 55.85 percent. HSBC Asia Holdings exited major shareholders’ list by reducing its stake into SABB Takaful from 31 percent to below 5 percent.
On Nomu Parallel Market, Fahd Abdullah Al-Benyan raised stake in Al Kathiri Holding Co. to 6.89 percent from 4.88 percent.
